PERK, Mexican Coffee and Chile Rub

Ric Orlando's Best Hot Sauce, Rub and Seasoning Shop

PERK 4.5 oz jar.

This blend is my go to for crusting steaks and portabello mushrooms, with its slightly bitter coffee and chile flavor balanced with brown sugar, cinnamon, cocoa and genuine Mexican herbs, It is also perfect for seasoning roasted veggies for tacos or dinner, and by the way, it makes AMAZING chili, too.

DRY RUB

Use PERK dry on the exterior of cast iron crusted items like Steaks, Chicken, Pork, Lamb, Fish, Shrimp and Veggies.

BLACKEN

A PERK Coffee crusted blackened steak is the ultimate expression of bitter-sweet umami

MARINADE

Mix 3 tbls perk with 1 tbls  of brown sugar, 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar, 1/4 cup of veg oil to make a perfect marinade for birds, meats, fish and veggies for the grill or oven.

SEASONING

PERK rocks for a seasoning for CHILI, tacos and fajitas

INGREDIENTS: Mixed Mexican chile powders, organic coffee, brown sugar, cocoa powder, Mexican oregano, herbs, sea salt, garlic powder, spices

Tasty

I love the spice, used it as a rub on my Christmas Beef Tenderloin and the pork shoulder in my New Year’s Day Hop’n John. I just wish the spice blends were supported by some recipes to give me more ideas for how best to employ them. Qrub and Cage are kinda obvious, but Perk and Dobe some what less so for a dabbler like me. Hey Chef, consider slapping some recipes on the shop site!

Ric's got the flavor!

I love all of Ric's spice combos - sometime I just want to spice up come chili or pasta sauce with Purple Haze, or I use the rubs on chicken and pork before grilling them, or even use some of the rubs as seasoning when sautéing vegetables!

You really need to Perk Up!

Love this rub…made the most delectable pork loin low and slow on the grill with it…daughter and I devoured it! Great in chili too! Definitely a favorite.
